Overview
January 20, 2009 will be an historic occasion for many different reasons. The election of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States shatters a racial and cultural barrier that has long divided Americans and America from the rest of the world. His Presidency, full of promise and secured by millions of volunteers ready to mobilize around health care reform, equal access to education and an expanded global mission built on a platform of dignity, respect and humanitarian concern is one that compels us all to shout YES WE CAN.
